Well, i like CCP as company as they are. Sure their might be information leaked, things rigged, but anyway they have personality, which means a lot more to me then the "correct" generic MMO Company.
To the contact with the Devs over IM or something else. I think even when traced it cant be fully tracked (just imagine the huge amount of data on fully traced machines, you need just another 100 peps to check all that and you still can miss something) and for me, i didnt want that in my own company if i had one.
Otherwise, as Dev, if anyone would like such a favor from me, that would be the last message exchanged between us and i think most of the Devs think similar about it. This is a thing of personal integrity which almost any responsible member of CCP (so all of them) should have and in most cases will have.
From my point of view its much better to let devs collaborate with the community on a more or less private level (except their personal chars) and i think those addresses are no secret and already free to get. But you should order anyone to keep Dev things their own and keep the trust in the company, towards them and toward the community.
The two things i would like to see from CCP are a complete report when someone of ISD, GM-Staff or DEV-Staff is fired, including the reason for termination as general term and/or all connected playerpetitions (without name of offender, just a headline and a timestamp), the official character names if such availble. So everyone can see why which job was terminated, without naming the person directly. This should be conform with data protection directives. The other thing is a public bugtracker including ALL exploits and a detailed description and all bug, with the addition that those are specifically marked which need direct in-Game GM or DEV presence. This would have two effects, a User would know if a bug is already known, if it need additionally data or is fixed and in case of a petition, which operations are done by the support staff. (Petiton answers should automatically include a link pointing to the relating thread in the bugtracker)
So, thats what i had to say, and keep allegations against allys low, everyone of you has a lot dirty laundry, more then anyone wants to know.
